Naturopathic medicine includes a wide variety of natural therapies. Dr. Adatya combines and tailors all treatments to your specific needs to bring about changes necessary to overcome disease and assure optimal health.
Botanical Medicine
Many plant substances are powerful medicines, effective and safe when used properly, in the right dose and in proper combinations with other herbs or treatments. Naturopathic physicians are the only licensed health care providers fully trained in the use of botanical medicine.
Diagnosis
Dr. Adatya uses many conventional diagnostic tools including a thorough health history, physical examinations, X-rays, and comprehensive laboratory tests when indicated.
Biotherapeutic Drainage
This is a methodology of healing that utilizes “drainage remedies” as a means to promote the excretory functions of particular organs and organ systems in an effort to discharge unnatural toxic accumulations from the body.
Natural Childbirth
Dr. Adatya offers non-invasive prenatal and postnatal naturopathic care for mother and infant in her clinical practice.
Therapeutic Nutrition
As a physician specializing in natural medicine, Dr. Adatya understands that what you eat is the basis for your health. Adopting a healthy diet is often the first step towards correcting health problems. Many medical conditions can be treated more effectively with food and nutritional supplementation than they can by other means, but with fewer complications and side effects.
Orthomolecular Medicine
Conceptualized by double Nobel laureate, Linus Pauling, is the practice of preventing and treating disease by providing the body with optimal amounts of substances, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, hormones and essential fatty acids, which are natural to the body. The International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine (ISOM) is dedicated to improving the treatment and prevention of disease, concentrating on schizophrenia, depression, children’s learning and behavioral disorders, and aging.
Intravenous Therapy (IV Therapy)
The administration of specific vitamins & minerals (including vitamins B complex, B5, B6, vitamin C, magnesium & calcium) intravenously has been shown to raise the blood’s nutrient levels higher than regular oral vitamin therapy. It is a painless procedure and the most a patient can expect to experience is a sensation of warmth as the nutrients enter the blood. It is an effective treatment for many conditions including fatigue, allergies, migraines, depression, cold/flu, aging, heart disease, muscle spasm, fibromyalgia and athletic performance training.
Physical Medicine
Various physical therapies are used to treat the body including heat and cold, gentle electric impulses, ultrasound, diathermy and hydrotherapy.
Oriental Medicine
Dr. Adatya has extensive knowledge in traditional Chinese medicine, and uses pulse diagnosis, acupuncture, acupressure and Oriental botanical medicine in her practice.
Desensitization
A method of allergy or immunotherapy treatment that uses extremely small doses of allergens to desensitize people from their allergens. It has been effective for allergic reactions (food & environmental), depression and ADHD.
Counseling
Counseling on diet, life-style, exercise, and occupational and environmental hazards is an integral part of the naturopathic treatment program.
Prescription Medicines
Sometimes the least possible intervention includes the use of antibiotics or other pharmaceutical drugs. Dr. Adatya can and will prescribe these when appropriate.
