Menopause Health in Vancouver. With Menopause, It’s All In The Balance… How important is a healthy hormone balance? Can the hormones that keep us healthy and happy be the same hormones that causes emotional and physical distress?
With extensive education in menopause management, as a licensed Naturopathic Physician and A Women’s Health Resource author with 25 years of clinical experience, I understand how our hormones are the most delicately balanced system of our bodies. Muscle mass, bone mass, cardiac and brain function all rely on adequate, readily available hormones. Women with a healthy hormone balance tend to enjoy long, healthy and productive lives. Hormone balance is key to healthy aging and quality of life and it’s my job as a Naturopathic Doctor to stay up to date on the latest advances in women’s hormonal health, menopause, bio-identical hormones, and herbal approaches to hormone balance.
Hormone treatment options are growing steadily more popular and hormone therapies are a fundamental and evolving part of my practice in Vancouver.
A key component is recognizing that body chemistry is unique and that a “one size fits all” approach does not work, this is especially true with bio-identical hormone prescribing. What might be an effective standardized dose for one person is too much or too little for another. As a Naturopathic Doctor, I value and utilize this individual approach to bio-identical hormone management with my patients.
I have been prescribing bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for 25 years, first in Portland, Oregon and now in Vancouver, B.C. The success of my therapies lies in having a thorough understanding of endocrinology and completing a thorough clinical assessment. I credit my expertise in menopause to the advanced training I have received from the North American Menopause Society aka NAMS (via the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties) and the Institute of Women’s Health in Portland Oregon, one of the most highly regarded educational and research organizations in North America .
As a Naturopathic Physician with a strong menopause practice, I am very committed to using hormones responsibly and never as a “crutch” by overlooking the health of the body as a whole.
The most important thing is that you not wait any longer. Hormones have too large an impact on our lives to ignore. Strength, energy, productivity and glowing health should be enjoyed throughout all the stages of a woman’s life, from girlhood through motherhood to old age!
As a physician working with the menopause population, I have helped thousands of women in Greater Vancouver and throughout North America struggling with hormone issues take a proactive approach to finding healthy hormone balance and optimizing their health. Let’s begin today to help you achieve balance and enjoy in the long run the things that make life truly fulfilling!
